Jahnavi Aluri, PhD, is an immunologist with a passion for studying the immune system to better understand and treat human diseases. Aluri joined the Indiana Bioscience Research Institute (IBRI) to work with Roberto Mallone, MD, PhD, and Sylvaine You, PhD, to understand the immune mechanisms in diabetes.
Prior to arriving at the IBRI, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Washington University where she investigated the functional consequence of mutations in a gene called TLR8, which lead to immunodeficiency, hyperinflammation and bone marrow failure in pediatric patients.
Aluri received her PhD from National Institute of Immunohaematology (NIIH), India, where she established immunological and molecular techniques for rapid diagnosis of severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID).
