Scott Dodson joins the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI) with almost 30 years of experience in the life sciences focusing on peptide chemistry. At the IBRI, he will work to grow its Peptide Therapeutics group, where he will help translate early research findings into innovative drug candidates.
Prior to starting work at the IBRI, Dodson was the principal peptide chemist at Avitide Inc. for almost 10 years. At Avitide, he developed and implemented a strategic plan to launch a peptide production facility, he synthesized and purified thousands of linear and cyclic peptide screening ligands using high throughput synthesis, and designed peptide structures, which led to stable affinity ligands for adeno-associated virus.
Dodson honed his skills over the years at Midwest-Biotech Inc., Diatide Laboratories, Amgen Boulder Inc. and the W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center.
Dodson loves spending time with his wife, Amanda, their dog Sassy and their nine grandchildren. He also enjoys reading novels, as well as writing and recording music. He is a huge sports fan who also revels in the outdoors and time spent fishing.
