Stephanie Mowery is a receptor pharmacologist with 10-plus years of industrial experience. As a member of the molecular pharmacology team at the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI), she serves as a technical subject matter expert in the pharmacology of metabolic diseases and is responsible for the development, validation and implementation of in vitro assays to assess biological target engagement for drug discovery projects.
Prior to joining the IBRI, Mowery worked as a senior scientist in the biology and pharmacology group of Novo Nordisk in Indianapolis. While there, she contributed to multiple projects on cross-functional teams in diabetes and rare endocrine diseases as an expert in cell-based assays characterizing peptide therapeutic’s target activation and/or cellular signaling pathways. She worked closely with the chemists to drive the structure-activity relationship databases for the compounds under development and helped to advance several compounds to the clinic.
She lives in Bargersville, Ind., with her German Shorthaired Pointer, Remington. In her spare time she competes with Remington in dock diving. Mowery also is a life-long equestrian, who competes with her Icelandic horse, Sviftingur.
